Construction Project Manager

This is a Contract position in Anchorage, AK posted September 27, 2020.

Established 25 yr construction firm seeking experienced Project Manager for construction projects throughout Alaska.

Projects include new facility construction, remodels to operational facilities and occasionally, residential construction.

Ideal applicant would have the following skills/experience.

– The applicant would have extensive experience developing proposals/bids and managing Federal, State and local government facility construction work throughout Alaska including Rural Communities.

– The applicant would have the ability to productively interact with a diverse client group including public and private sector agencies and individuals.

– The applicant would have the ability to smoothly, precisely and efficiently manage remote Alaska construction projects.

– The applicant would possess skills typical of an experienced journeyman carpenter.

– The applicant would have an even, mature temperament that seeks to minimize conflict w clients, subcontractors, employees and Co-Workers while maintaining a disciplined work environment.

– The applicant would have functional computer skills including MS Word, Excel, MS Project and Primavera.

– The applicant would have experience using project management software including Projnet, Progen and Procore.

– The applicant would reside in the Anchorage AK area or be willing to relocate for full time employment
– The applicant would be able to pass Federal/TSA-SIDA background checks for work on airport facilities The remote work we focus on requires that Project Managers have extensive, real-world, on-site experience.

Our most successful Project Managers have always had their roots in the field rather than universities.

You might be the right candidate if you’ve spent years working as a GC’s Project Superintendent, even if your computer and CPM skills are currently sub-par.

The ability to anticipate and prevent problems is the most critical skill on remote Alaska construction projects.

Initial Compensation: $50-$60/hr (DOE) with 40 hour work weeks expected , plus benefits including Health insurance, paid holidays and accrued annual and sick leave.

Job Requirements:
· Used in construction and construction contract management
· Project construction schedule and construction documents/specification
· Provide oversight during construction on all assigned construction projects
· Prepare material and construction bid packages for construction
· Complete all construction inspection/site visits for projects approved for construction
· Establishing construction budgets for projects
· Obtaining, updating and archiving all construction documentation for construction projects, including construction schedules
· Support various projects during construction
· Supervise general construction contractors and sub-contractors
· Perform additional virtual construction tasks to support construction management duties
· Develop construction budgets for all projects
