Applies knowledge and understanding of environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations and standards.

Coordinates, directs and monitors all facility EHS compliance programs, issues and results.

Assists the General Manager in developing, monitoring and instituting programs and procedures to ensure environmentally compliant, safe and legal operation and maintenance of facilities.Duties and Responsibilities Implement policies and procedures necessary to meet requirements of environmental, occupational health and safety, from federal, state, environmental, local health and safety regulations, laws, and standards.

Ensure compliance with company health and safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe workplace for all employees, contractors, and visitors.

Actively verify that employees comply with Safety Rules, JHAs, Safe Job Briefings, and State and Federal Regulations.

Assist in intervention/counseling of employees.

Participate with Human Resources and management to review any current issues.

Evaluate, develop and revise company-wide safety management and hazard elimination / prevention programs and procedures.

Implement company EHS training programs for facilities.

Arrange, coordinate and perform environmental, health and safety training, including new employee (onboarding) orientation and ongoing training programs.

Develop and implement monitoring programs for industrial hygiene, solid waste generation and water discharges to meet the requirements of federal and state regulations, laws and regulations, and corporate EHS policies.

Implement, follow and assist in enforcement of corporate policies and procedures to assure an environmentally compliant, safe workplace for all employees, contractors and visitors.

Monitor and keep required records of each facility’s operation to demonstrate compliance with all federal, state, county and local operating permits.

Coach, mentor and facilitate site safety committees.

Ensure meeting minutes are written and distributed.

Ensure actions identified in the meeting are tracked to closure.

Conduct facility EHS inspections and address identified deficiencies.

Serve as facility point of contact for communication, documentation and reporting to all agencies.

Maintain accurate filing system for EHS records, including permit applications, permits, records, operating logs, test reports and monitoring reports.

Maintain internal reporting and information systems and communicate non-compliance events, public/media issues, and EHS testing/inspection activities to facility and corporate personnel.

Compile Incident Management report for each incident.

Lead root-cause evidence gathering: perform evidence collection and stakeholder meetings.

Complete onboarding training programs within the timeframe prescribed.

Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.

Evaluate, recommend and procure PPE and equipment.

Participate in corporate conference calls.

Proficiency with MS Office, Word and Excel; company information management systems; and agency reporting software.
