Maintenance Technician I (30505)

This is a Full-time position in Copper Center, AK posted June 15, 2021.

SUMMARYThis position is responsible for maintaining CRNA facilities and qualified beneficiary homes, water hauls, environmental health programs, and grounds keeping. Will cooperate with Public Health Service, Village Safe water, and other State or Federal Programs.JOB DUTIES* Utilize in-house maintenance work order system to open, complete, and close prescribed work orders.* Collect water samples as needed.* Assist in water haul program.* Assist with CRNA facility maintenance repairs, and maintenance/improvement projects as designated by Supervisor.* Assist with minor home repairs as generated through Elder Services or designated by Supervisor.* Assist with maintenance of CRNA vehicles as designated by Supervisor.* Submit travel records in a timely manner.* Submit reports of activities and client encounters to Supervisor.* Assist with building mechanical repairs, change pumps, thermostats, valves, HVAC filters, and plumbing fixture.* Assist with interior/ exterior wall repairs, patching, prepping walls, and painting interior / exterior walls.* Assist with event setup and takedown.* Attend staff meetings/department meetings as scheduled to maintain the flow of communication between staff and administration.* Perform snow removal and chimney sweeps as required for eligible beneficiaries.* Perform snow removal, lawn, and grounds maintenance for CRNA.* Maintain equipment, vehicles, generator, etc.* Willingness to accept related training and workshops to enhance, improve job knowledge, performance to earn and maintain certifications.* Perform other duties as assigned.NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES* Knowledgeable about building and ground maintenance services.* Don appropriate safety-related gear related to job expectations.* Strong understanding and sensitivity to Alaska Native culture and lifestyle* Demonstrated experience working effectively with Alaska Native population* Strong written, analytical, verbal, and interpersonal skills.* Skills in operating personal computer using a variety of computer software.* Ability to keep accurate records and produce timely and accurate written reports.* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as required for HIPAA, other regulations and organization matters.* Ability to learn and apply program/agency operating policies and procedures.* Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with outside organizations and contacts.* Ability to work independently, as well as with teams.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* High School Diploma or equivalent. Contact Human Resources if you are interested in working and do not have a diploma or GED.* Two (2) years experience involving building maintenance, including: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, carpentry, water treatment, and/or facility/grounds maintenance.* Valid Alaska Drivers License, with satisfactory driving history to qualify for company insurance.* Current CPR/First Aid or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.* A combination of experience, education, and training may substitute for degree requirements on a year for year basis.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* Four (4) years of broad experience as related to above skills.* Trade certification (i.e., carpentry, plumbing, electrical) as related to above skills.WORKING CONDITIONSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
