Maintenance Technician III – Kuparuk Project Services – Maintenance Group

The Maintenance Technician III performs duties required in support of Maintenance Operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (AND OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED)* Perform piping spool/valve installation and removal, rigging, blinding and minor pipe fitting* Lead crew by example in implementing safety policy and procedures* Promote safe work practices and adhere to company and client safety policies and procedures for work performed, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation of task* Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures and accept accountability for safe work practices* Ability to follow all policies and procedures and work in a safe and productive manner.* Routinely perform safety and productivity observations; shop, field, and vehicle inspections* Demonstrate support for the company’s environmental management system* Perform manual labor including operating hand tools and power tools* Performs manual labor activity, such as cleanup, hauling, stacking materials, shoveling, handling steel material and valves* Knowledge of structural and mechanical piping maintenance operations* Interpretation of Isometric and P&ID Drawings* Knowledge of various skilled tasks as required for a piping maintenance operations* Working knowledge of rigging and piping bolt-up techniques* Knowledge of and ability in blinding and pipefitting techniques* Knowledge of piping, valve installation and specifications* Ability to participate in the respiratory protection program* Ability to work in confined spaces* Ability to perform piping spool installation and removal* Ability to perform maintenance asbestos gasket removal* Ability to work with minimal supervision and be capable of performing assigned tasks with limited general technical guidance* Tank and Vessel coating experience preferred* Ability to wear a full-face respirator or supplied air while performing essential duties.* Some scaffold knowledge preferred* Knowledge of steam, Purging and venting, Hydro test, and Energy Isolation procedures preferred* Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.* Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED with a minimum of three (3) years experience in mechanical piping, rigging, and general piping required.CERTIFICATIONS* North Slope Training Cooperative certification required* Valid driver’s license required* Petrochemical or oilfield experience preferred* Five (5) years’ experience in a mechanical piping, rigging, and general piping Bolt-up, and good labor skills preferred* Asbestos 40 hr. preferredNote to all current employees:It is recommended that all current employees inform their managers when they apply for new positions as leadership will be notified of current employees applying for posted positions.A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:* Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.* Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.* Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.* Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam.* Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.* Must be able to pass and maintain pulmonary respiratory qualifications.The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
