A Bit About Us

Established over fifty years ago, we have seven veterinarians serving the needs of Southeast Alaska pets in a state-of-the-art facility in Juneau, Alaska. We are the oldest established veterinary practice in the region. The original practice area covered all of Southeast Alaska and Northwest Canada (Yukon Territory and Northwest British Columbia). The original practice had a population base of 30,000 people scattered throughout three different time zones. We have since evolved from a one-man, traveling veterinary practice in 1962 to a large multi-doctor hospital serving Juneau and the surrounding communities in Southeast Alaska.

Job Details

We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to cover after hours emergency calls. We are a 7 Doctor practice located in Juneau, Alaska. We operate normal business hours and provide after hours services on an on call basis. We would like to hire a Veterinarian interested in covering overnight emergencies 4 or 5 nights a week. This would be during after hours when our clinic is closed. This would be a new position at our hospital in an effort to provide better care to our patients and also relieve some of our daytime doctors who currently rotate call. The veterinarian would be responsible for any after hours care of hospitalized patients (we don’t always have overnight patients) as well as care for after hours emergencies. These emergencies are quite variable and some nights might include 0, other nights might include 4 or 5. We have a nice facility with on premise housing if this person would like for the overnight shift. This person would not be required to be on premise if there are no cases hospitalized and no calls so long as they maintain the ability to come in should an emergency call our after hours line.
