Environmental Regulatory Specialis

Intertek is a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide. Our network of more than 1,000 laboratories and offices with over 43,000 people in more than 100 countries, delivers innovative and bespoke Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification solutions for our customers’ operations and supply chains. Intertek Total Quality Assurance expertise, delivered consistently with precision, pace, and passion, enables our customers to power ahead safely.     Intertek’s Industry Services team provides technical solutions that help customers maximize operational efficiency, ensure asset reliability, improve quality, and minimize safety risks. Some of our many service areas include inspection, non-destructive and materials testing, technical training, engineering, surveying, QA/QC, and supplier auditing.  Assess and identify environmental and land use permit and authorization needs for the construction phase of the projectWork closely with project personnel in anticipating needs as well as identifying potential obstacles and opportunities for permittingAdvise project personnel on environmental regulatory permit and authorization needs for construction activitiesPrepare and submit applications for regulatory permits and authorizationsPrepare and maintain forecasts and timelines for required regulatory permits and authorizations for the projectEvaluate and communicate potential impacts of regulatory permitting decisions to internal stakeholdersSeek to maintain a balance between acceptance of responsible regulatory permit stipulations and elimination of non-value adding requirements and utilize negotiation skills to resolveStrive to understand potential effects of decision-making on external stakeholdersUtilize innovation to reduce environmental impact of project activities and/or drive responsible cost reduction and workplace efficiencyActively support the implementation of the Intelex Permits module as the underlying platform of a robust regulatory compliance assurance programCultivate and maintain good working relations with regulatory agency personnel and other key external stakeholdersAssist with permitting and planning, as needed, and manage the associated deliverables and budgetsEstablish and maintain interdependent working relationships with project discipline engineers and supporting contractorsFoster and promote active collaboration with all subject matter experts on the broader Client Environmental Sustainability & Permitting teamAs needed, serve as a regulatory permitting subject matter expert spokesperson in interactions with external stakeholdersAssist with the development of project Operational Plans, coordinating closely with Field Environmental Coordinators, and other subject matter experts. REQUIRED:Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asyleeBachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering field5+ years of experience working with environmental regulations3+ years of experience in oil and gas industryPrevious experience with Alaska North Slope facilities and projectsWilling and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel up to 10% of the time5+ years of experience with NEPA permitting preferredAbility to work both independently and as part of a team with strong relationship management preferredStrong written and verbal presentation skills preferred Strong multi-tasking capability with ability to manage multiple ongoing activities preferred
