This is a Full-time position in Prudhoe Bay, AK posted June 7, 2021.

This is a full-time temporary project based position expected to be completed on or around October 2021 and will offer 401K with no additional benefitsThe Painter/Blaster is responsible for performing the full range of journey-level painter/blaster work, including sandblasting and applying protective and decorative coating and paint on hard surfaces.

This position supervises and coordinates the work of apprentice painters and other crew members.ESSENTIAL DUTIES* Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.* Set up and operate blast booth.* Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from surfaces* Loads and wheels sandblasting materials; connects compressed air hose and sand hose to machine.* Replenishes mixture in hopper and regulates sandblast pressure by manipulation of valves.* Review blueprints, schematic drawings, and job specifications to determine work requirements.* Perform paint handling and mixing techniques, including two and three-part epoxy.* Operate abrasive blast machines including sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces for painting.* Smooth, shape, and clean hard surfaces.* Apply protective and decorative coating, paint finishes, and other materials such as enamel, glaze, gel-coat, and lacquer as required.* Operate pressure feed spay systems and airless spray equipment.* Other duties as assigned.* Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.* Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE* High school diploma or GED equivalent.* Must have a valid driver’s license.* A minimum of four (4) years or 8,000 hours related experience required.* Painter license required.* Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheet required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.CERTIFICATIONS* North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required.Note to all current employees:It is recommended that all current employees inform their managers when they apply for new positions as leadership will be notified of current employees applying for posted positions.A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:* Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.* Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.* Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.* Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam.* Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.* Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.If you need any assistance or a reasonable accommodation to apply for this position, please contact AES Human Resources at: 907-334-1688.
