General knowledge, skills, and abilities to operate and maintain grounds equipment.

Must be capable of manual labor.

Previous groundskeeper and snow removal experience desired.

Applicant must possess an unrestricted Alaska driver’s license.

This is a great opportunity for outdoor, seasonal employment.

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and filled as positions become available.Duties:100 Maintain lawns, shrubs, flowerbeds, start winter prep work; operate grounds equipment and machinery.

Perform campus plowing, shoveling, salting, and sanding duties.

EssentialKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to work in a group setting including following instructions given by a Lead or Supervisor; relating in a positive manner to management and other employees; and assisting in providing a productive and safe work environment.

Ability to add, subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.

Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:Previous groundskeeper and snow removal experience desired.REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:Applicant must possess a valid and unrestricted Alaska driver’s license.

This is a temporary seasonal position with UAS and contract continuation will depend on performance.
